Good afternoon Egbert Families,

With only eight weeks to go before summer officially starts, we have lots of great learning activities and events coming up. Please see the schedule below and check out our website.

Hats On! For Mental Health - Wednesday, May 6

On the first Wednesday in May, Albertans are invited to wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health. All students are welcome to wear a hat to school on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Scholastic Book Fair - May 6, 7, and 8

We will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair this week! Students will be able to shop on Wednesday, May 6, Thursday, May 7 during the Celebration of Learning, and Friday, May 8. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Mydoh, Debit, and Cash. Please encourage your students to buy books at the Book Fair!

Celebration of Learning - Thursday, May 7 | 4:30 - 6:30 PM

Please join us for our school-wide Celebration of Learning, where students showcase their projects and achievements in literacy, numeracy, and other subjects with our families.

Grade 9 Farewell - Thursday, June 25, 2026

The formal program will begin at 2:45 PM. Guests with tickets can begin entering the gym at 2:15 PM. Following the ceremony, parents will have time for photos with students. Doors will re-open at 6:00 PM for the farewell celebration and dance - only teachers and Grade 9 students will attend this portion of the event.

As a reminder, this is a school-based celebration and not a formal graduation, so we ask that students dress in smart, semi-formal attire - like what might be worn to a holiday gathering or special family event. We would like for all students to feel comfortable, included, and able to enjoy this memorable event with their peers.

Due to capacity restrictions, students will be limited to three tickets for their family. Unfortunately, extra tickets will not be available. Offsite forms and event information including fees will be sent home with students next week.

PAT Exams - Grade 9 Parent Permission Required

A reminder that while families have the option to authorize their Grade 9 child to leave school early on PAT test days, classes will continue as scheduled with valuable instructional time being provided. We strongly encourage students to stay for the full day, as every hour of learning is meaningful. If you are excusing your child from class, you must call in and excuse your student.
