A sincere thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for our Parents as Partners BBQ on Friday.  It was wonderful to have many families join us and connect with our staff. We appreciate your continued partnership as we work together a successful school year for your children.

A reminder that there will be no school on Friday, September 25. We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, September 28.

Demographic Forms Compliance

The deadline for families to complete Demographic Verification Forms passed on Monday, Sep.14. Currently, approximately 39% of families have not have a completed Demographic Verification Form for the 2026-27 school year.

On Tuesday, Sep. 15 an overdue reminder communication was sent to parents / legal guardians who have not completed Demographic Verification Forms for the 2026-27 school year. This communication will continue to be sent the beginning of each week, with the final overdue reminder being sent on Friday, Oct. 30.

  • Important | These forms are a legal requirement from Alberta Education and Childcare for funding purposes. If forms remain incomplete, it may result in a reduction in funding for the Calgary Board of Education. 

**Please update the "Nickname" or "Preferred" name in the demographic forms if your child goes by a different name.  

Changing Weather 

Please ensure your students are dressed appropriately for the weather now that the temperatures are dropping. Students will be outside for PE, lunch, and at various times in their other classes. Students will also require appropriate clothing and shoes for PE, whether indoors or outdoors.  

Child & Youth Well-Being Family & Caregiver Series

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community. Healthy Hunger

Healthy Hunger is an online platform that allows parents and guardians to purchase optional lunches and snacks for their child(ren) throughout the school year. This program serves as a school fundraiser organized by our School Council members. If you are interested in ordering lunches for your child(ren), please register or log in at healthyhunger.ca. When registering, please ensure your child is assigned to the correct school and homeroom teacher. 

Once registered, you will receive notifications directly from Healthy Hunger about upcoming lunch opportunities. Please note that all order forms close five days prior to each Fun Lunch date.

Our first Fun Lunch of the year will be on October 1, featuring Subway. To participate, orders must be placed by midnight on September 27.

Parent Society & School Council Annual General Meeting - Wednesday, Oct 21 at 6:00 pm (virtual/online):

Please join the meeting here on Wednesday, Oct 21.  We encourage all parents and guardians to get involved with our School Council. Council meets monthly virtually/online for 60 minutes and the focus is on fundraising as well as sharing your voice with school administrators. Council meetings are a great opportunity to stay connected and learn more about what is happening at the school.

School council – is incorporated under the societies act for the purpose of raising funds for the school executive.

Parent Society/School Council Annual General Meeting - this meeting is held annually to elect positions for both the school council executive and parent society.

  • President: creates agenda and chairs meetings
  • Vice President: acts on behalf of President if unavailable
  • Secretary: takes and distributes minutes of meetings
  • Treasurer: bookkeeping and accounting for funds belonging to school council
  • Key Communicator: Attends meetings organized by CBE and relays information to school council

Please consider joining us in person or online to VOTE or to volunteer to let your name stand for a vacant position on either executive.
